Icebreaker board template
Warm-up questions with space for everyone's answer before a workshop starts.
What it is
An icebreaker is a short warm-up at the start of a meeting or workshop, where everyone answers a light question. This board has three questions with room for each answer, so people in the room and people on the call take part the same way.
When to use it
- At the start of a workshop, an offsite or a long planning session
- When the people in the meeting have not worked together before
- In remote teams that rarely talk about anything but work
How to run it
- 01
Pick easy questions
Choose questions anyone can answer in one note without sharing too much. Swap the sample questions for your own.
- 02
Set a timer
Give everyone two minutes to add one note per question.
- 03
Go round the group
Each person says a sentence or two about their notes. Keep it short so the warm-up stays a warm-up.
- 04
Keep the last answers
The last question asks what people want from the session. Look at those notes again at the end and check you delivered.
