Prompt Board

FigJam alternative

Prompt Board vs FigJam for teams on Figma's free plan

If your designers already pay for Figma, FigJam comes with their seats and is hard to argue with. This page is for teams on the free Starter plan who have used their 3 FigJam files, and for people who want a whiteboard without joining Figma.

FigJam details come from figma.com: the pricing page, the FigJam and FigJam AI pages, and the Figma help centre articles on the Starter plan, the timer, voting, export and import. Checked on 19 October 2026. Figma changes its plans often, so check its pricing page before you decide.

Pick Prompt Board if

  • Your team has used its 3 free FigJam files and wants more boards without paying
  • Your team wants a whiteboard and has no other reason to use Figma
  • You want the AI to draft a retro, a plan or a flowchart from one sentence
  • You want boards as SVG files, which FigJam does not export

Stay with FigJam if

  • Your designers already work in Figma and everyone has a seat
  • You run workshops with a timer, or with voting and audio on the Professional plan and up
  • Guests from other companies join your sessions (on the Professional plan and up, an open session lets them edit for 24 hours without logging in)
  • You link boards to Jira, Asana or GitHub, or sketch on an iPad

Our take

If your team designs in Figma, use FigJam. It is already in your seats, your designers know it, and it has the voting and audio that Prompt Board lacks. We would rather say so here than have you find out after moving.

Prompt Board suits the teams that Figma's free plan squeezes. Three team files go fast when every retro and sprint plan gets its own board, and a draft you share can only be viewed. Here every board is free and editable, and the AI writes the first version from one sentence.
