Flowchart template
Start, steps, decisions and outcomes joined by connectors that follow the shapes.
What it is
A flowchart shows a process as steps and decisions joined by arrows. This one maps how a support team handles an incoming ticket, with a yes and a no branch at each decision.
When to use it
- To write down how a process works today
- To onboard new people into a team's routine
- To spot steps you could cut or automate
How to run it
- 01
Fix the start and the end
Write the trigger in the start shape and the outcome in the end shape.
- 02
Add the steps
One action per box, each starting with a verb, like "Tag product area".
- 03
Add the decisions
Use a diamond for every yes or no question and label both arrows. Connectors follow the shapes when you move them.
- 04
Walk it with someone who does the work
Ask them to follow each path out loud. Add the steps they say are missing.
